Blue Hour is a handmade artist’s book about a space between presence and absence, memory and forgetting. It Is built around the symbolic language of images, colour and memory. The title refers to the brief moment between day and night, a threshold when the world becomes uncertain, colours dissolve, and familiar things begin to appear strange. Blue is both the colour and the emotional temperature of the book. It moves through different shades, carrying states of longing, silence, waiting, grief and tenderness. The book unfolds through a constellation of images and recurring signs and symbols: water and the sea, trees and the forest, a rook, railway tracks, a deserted stop, a pilgrim, Gorgon's Medusa, a clock, a strongman, Pierrot and the clown, stairs and a heart. Some belong to collective or cultural memory, others come from childhood, dreams or personal experience.Blue Hour is a book full of symbols about what remains when something has already disappeared. Desire to return to places, people or versions of ourselves that may no longer exist.
